Maternity Leave

As of October 7th, Emily has officially gone back to work. She worked for a week and a half at the beginning of the school year and then took five weeks off for maternity leave. It was a nice time for her to bond with Wyatt and get the house set up. She didn’t get as much done as she would have liked, Wyatt would take a lot more of her time than she realized. Travis helped out with Wyatt when he was home in the evenings. Wyatt had a few hard weeks with his acid reflex and constipation, but he is now on medication and doing better, most days. It has now been almost three weeks since she returned and everyone is still adjusting to their new schedules. Only having one car means a lot of extra travel time and early mornings, but we are getting the hang of it.

Active Baby Boy

A few people have told us that Wyatt is a squirmy baby. Now that he is getting older and stronger it has become more apparent. He loves to lie down on his back to kick his legs and swing his arms around. Here is a video that shows how much he moves around.

Fall Break

Emily and Travis had Thursday and Friday off of school. That meant a four day weekend. We spent a lot of the time just relaxing and doing nothing. It was Emily's younger brother's birthday, so we went down on Friday to West Valley. We had a nice day hanging out and going out to eat. For both lunch and dinner we went to Chili's. Travis was given some money to go to Chili's and rate their customer service as a "secret shopper." Rarely do we go out to eat, and never twice in one day to a fancier restaurant like Chili's. It was good eating. In the evening Travis, Jarom, Leslie, and Derrell went to the Haunted Forest in American Fork. Emily stayed home with the baby. The haunted house was fun, and slightly scary. The best part was after the haunted house when the four went Zombie Shooting. They had a course set up where you get to shoot paintballs at zombies. Travis was impressed with his shooting skills, especially given his lack of experience with a gun. As always, the weekends are too short and it's back to the regular routine.

Wyatt 2 months

Wyatt is growing so fast. He has change quite a bit within the last few months. He is becoming much more enjoyable as he interacts more with everyone. He loves to smile and coo at people, including his own reflection. He is pretty strong for a two month old. He holds his head up pretty well and likes to try to stand while he is being held. His favorite things to do are swinging in his swing and lying on his back. He loves to kick his feet and flail his around. A few people have mentioned he is a rather squirmy baby. He is still fussy because of his acid reflex and digestive problems. Everyone is hoping Wyatt will outgrow his physical struggles soon.

Pics of Our Son

Here are some pictures of our son. We thought a couple of them were pretty funny, like him holding his bottle like a like old drunk man or the one where he fell asleep in a sexy super model pose. He loves sleeping with a hand or both above his head, but usually he doesn't pose quite like that.

Emily's Birthday

Happy
25th Birthday Emily!!!

On September 22nd Emily was able to celebrate her birthday. She is a quarter century old. Emily's family spent the day in Syracuse with Travis, Emily, and Wyatt. Travis' family came to celebrate that evening. Emily was excited to have all of her wishes come true: Time spent with family and starting a family of her own.

Wyatt's Baby Blessing

Travis and Emily officially blessed their sweet baby boy. On September 7th, friends and family met at their new home in Syracuse to give Wyatt a name and a blessing. There was a light dinner and treats that everyone enjoyed. Travis did an amazing job blessing his son, how truly blessing we are to have the gospel in our lives. It was a fun evening for all.

Our Home

Since school has begun and our little Wyatt is here we are moving into our home. Travis and Emily have figured out a time frame for when the Lewis' will return home from their mission and we cannot wait to be moved into our home. The first week of September is when we really started moving and spending nights in our home. The rest of the month Emily spent her maternity leave getting the house set up. The boxes seem to never end; we had multiple car loads each week. By the end of the month we did finally get all our belongings to our home, but we still have a some boxes to unpack.
