Living Room Wall

Travis' sister, Mindee, gave us a good idea for our slanted living room wall. The idea included all sorts of picture frames and lettering and fabric to match our pillows (which Emily made). It took a while to put everything together. We got a lot of the frames from Travis' mom, who had a couple of boxes of old frames, as well as from the D.I. Once we got all the material, we laid it out on the floor and rearranged it until we found something we liked. We then cut out paper and hung it on the wall to see the placement and to determine if it still looked good. Once we got it all hung it was one piece at a time to paint and upholster to get to the final product.

Here is a close up of the finished wall.

New Car

After a year and a half of carpooling, which has been a lot of extra travel time and backtracking, we decided to get a second car. Our Nissan Sentra has been nice, but it is not overly spacious and we are glad to have a second car in case something were to happen to the Sentra. We went looking at cars and found the Corolla to be only marginally larger than a Sentra. The Camry seemed like the best option and we found a 2009 with only 64,000 miles. It is a dark gray car, the same color as every other car in Emily's family, so I guess it was meant to be. One of Emily's relatives works at a car dealership and was able to give us a good deal on the final price and interest rate. Emily loves driving her new ride and the extra time saved by not having to chauffeur Travis.

Sitting

A few weeks ago, Wyatt mastered the skill of sitting. He has sort of been sitting for a while, but was always too active to keep himself upright. He is sill very active, but sits well for long periods of time. He also really enjoys unloading his basket of toys. He will often play with the basket for longer time periods than he will with the toys inside of it.
