RiverBirch Cabin

The cabin is always a fun event each summer. Above is a picture of all the folks who were able to join this year. Most of us stayed up at the cabin for three days and two nights. Grandma and Papa Ashcroft also came up for a bit one of the days which is always nice to have them join.
One of the favorite activities is the hikes. This year we all hiked down to the Jacuzzi and shower. It was Wyatt's first time and he loved it. Even though the water is around 42 degrees, it didn't hinder  the boys from trying them out. Wyatt even thought it looked fun and attempted the shower. The hike ended at the waterfall where we all met up to watch a few of us jump off.
Great memories!

JULY FUN!

We started the month off with Syracuse Heritage Day's parade and carnival with our neighbors. We also joined our neighbors fireworks show.

For the 4th of July we joined the Spackman family in Lewiston, Utah for a parade and carnival. Even the puppy, Ana, joined in on the fun. It was fun to see the family and show Wyatt around the farm house.

On the 23rd of July Emily's parents spent the night to save a spot for Utah's Pioneer Day. On the morning of the 24th we all joined them for the parade in downtown, Salt Lake City, and went out to lunch.

HAFB Air Show

We attended the Hill Air Force Base Air Show and it was awesome. It took over two hours to park the which was not so fun with two kiddos. Once there we meet u with Emily's family and watch a few shows. We at least got to see the Thunder Birds preform. After the show, Wyatt went around with Grandma Gina to meet the Thunder Bird pilots and crew members. His grandparent's also bought him a Thunder Bird toy which he thought was pretty cool.

Street Pool Party

Wyatt loves to play with all the neighbor kids so we decide to have a pool party. We got out Wyatt's big blowup slide, two pools, sprinklers, and a slip-n-slide. The kids enjoyed playing with the water toys and eating the treats we provided. The party had a good turn out and lasted for a few hours. Every time a neighbor kid comes over they always ask when our next pool party will be.

Father's Day

This amazing guy gets to celebrate Father's day with these two cuties. Kate and Wyatt love their daddy! Travis is an amazing father and husband, we could not ask for anyone better. The kiddos gifted him a hero t-shirt and an electric hair buzzer. Travis tested it out on Wyatt's hair and gave him a Mohawk for the summer. Emily cut Travis' hair for the first time.

Kate 9 Months

Kate is a very happy and social baby girl. She loves attention from anyone. If she catches someone's eye she smiles and waves her arms. Compared to Wyatt she is a little developmentally behind. She can sit well, rolls/ wiggles around the house, can sit up, and tries to pull herself to a stand. Her favorite thing is to bounces. She bounces when you hold her, when she stand, and even when you are trying to put her in her bouncer. She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks. Sometimes she crawls a few times, but stops to move other ways. (Now she is almost 10 months. She crawls now, but not too fast. She also pulls herself up and tries to move from one piece of furniture to another.) She loves big brother, Wyatt, and already wants to play with him all the time.

A little side note: I loved comparing Wyatt and Kate. Its fun to see what Kate will be doing next or be reminded of the silly things Wyatt did at that age. Below is Wyatt at 9 months.

Hoggle Zoo

Travis and the kids meet some of Emily's family at Hoggle Zoo. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Some highlights of the trip were feeding the giraffes, the bird show, watching an elephant bathe itself in the pool, and the splash pad. Kate was too little to understand what was happening. It was fun to have Kenna and Kate go together for their first zoo trip.

Day Out on the Town

Emily's mom, Gina, had a City Creek gift card she won from work. She wanted to spent the money on her grand babies so everyone meet in Salt Lake for lunch and a walk about. We enjoyed a meal at the Blue Lemon and spent most the money at the Disney Store. Wyatt loved finding all products of movies he enjoys watching at home. Wyatt ended up with Toy Store figures and Star Wars figures, while the girls both got new swimming suits.

Lagoona Beach

The swimming area at Lagoon has opened. The water is pretty cold, but it doesn't stop Wyatt. Kate has yet to swim because we don't think it will be as enjoyable for her.

Brian and Chrissy

What a fun and busy day! Brian and Chrissy were married in the Ogden Temple May 7th. Travis and Emily attended the sealing with a luncheon following. Wyatt was able to meet the couple outside of the temple and attend the luncheon. That evening was their reception that they decorated beautifully. It was a great experience for the family. Congrats to the new couple!
Wyatt kept trying to play Peek-a-boo under the table clothes :)

Travis Goes to Florida

Travis attended a week long convention in Florida for alternative high schools. It was a crazy week at home with only one parent, but everyone survived. Travis enjoyed his time away. Below is a description of the events in Florida.

Play Time

These two love each other. Kate laughs at anything her big brother does. Wyatt wants to help his sister with anything. They are a good pair.

Lagoon Fun

Easter

We had a fun Easter! This year Wyatt understood the purpose of egg hunts which was exciting to watch. We all got spoiled this year and got to celebrate with tons of family and friends.
The first party was with our awesome neighbors. We had a blast eating dinner, stuffing eggs, and participating in a glow in the dark egg hunt.
On Easter day the family spent the holiday at Grandma Lila's house. The extended family gathered for a steak dinner and egg hunt. Grandma Lila give you 10 cents for each egg. As a family we earned about $10.
A few weeks later we had a fun Easter themed dinner at Paul and Kerri's house. It was very cute and the food tasted delightful. We also had a fun three legged Easter egg hunt where we had to collect the eggs in numeric order 1-12.

Easter Eggs

You cant celebrate Easter without dying eggs. This was the first Easter for Kate and Wyatt's first time creating eggs. We had a few pretty sweet eggs.

Lagoon

This year we decided to splurge and get our family season passes to Lagoon. Wyatt has been excited to try out all the rides he was told about. He enjoyed every moment we sent our first day out. The family has gone almost every weekend. As the summer progresses and the heat increases we will definitely hold back, but we have gotten our money's worth so far.
