In December, we found out that we would be expecting a baby. We have
always wanted to create a blog to keep people up to date on what we are
doing. This seemed like the perfect time to get started. Mid-January we
told our families that we were expecting.
We wrapped up a Little Critters book called
Grandma, Grandpa, and Me
to give to our parents. As Emily's parents were opening the book, they
began discussing a stack of children's books on the coffee table.
Emily's mom Gina mentioned that she was starting to collect books for
future grandchildren. The implications of the Little Critters book was
quickly realized by all and the excitement radiated the room.
A duplicate copy of the same book was given to Travis' parent the next
day; however, the reaction was a little different. Upon opening the
present, Travis' mom Kerri expressed how wonderful these books are and
proceeded to read the story. Others in the room seemed to catch on to
what the story meant, but it took a little more hinting for the parents
to understand that they were Grandma and Grandpa from the story. It was
quite entertaining. We love you mom.
