We went shopping this week for granite counter tops and cabinets to put in our kitchen. Neither Emily or Travis particularly like the look of granite, yet since it is included in the cost of the house and it is durable, we decided to go with it. The color choice is called New Venetian Gold
(We actually changed the color to Santa Cecilia). For cabinets we decided to go with a color called Root Beer. It is darker than either of us initially though we would go with, but it's what we liked. Both colors can be seen below. The cabinets will have a square panel, rather than the fancy design thing in the picture.
We will be adding a couple of extras, that of course cost more money, onto the standard package. We will be getting a spice rack in one of the kitchen cupboards as well as soft close drawers. In the two bathrooms, there will also be granite counter tops that only cost $200 for both. A killer of a deal. The master bathroom will also have a heat resistant drawer with hidden plugs. Emily really wanted that for her hair straightener and blow dryer.
