House Progress through June 30
Our house looks like it is finished. The only thing we see missing is the carpet and RC Willey is delivering our appliances on Monday. It was fun walking through the house and seeing all the minor changes that are happening. The changes we noticed inside the house was of course the granite counter tops, sinks, sink fixtures, light fixtures, outlet covers, toilets, and master shower glass. Outside the house the front stairs are dry with railing and the driveway is complete with RV pad to the side of the garage. We are getting excited to move in and get things settled.
Maternity Pictures
At the Spackman Family Reunion Mindee and Amanda, Emily's sister-in-laws, found some time to take maternity pictures. Travis was not as excited as Emily about the whole thing, but it was something they wanted to do with their first baby. In the end it was fun for all those involved. The pictures turned out to be amazing!!! Thank you Mindee and Amanda!!!
Broken Pinky
Travis broke his pinky finger this week. He was playing soccer with the Elder's quorum in his ward and was playing keeper in the goal while warming up. the ball came in and jammed his finger causing it to break. Immediately Travis knew that it was broken, but he stayed and played the game anyway.
The next day, Travis and Emily visited three different doctors who kept passing them along to other specialists. Finally they found someone who would do surgery on his finger placing a pin through his pinky to keep it in place. They gave Travis a prescription for pain medication, yet after taking it he got very nauseous. He is just taking Ibuprofen and as long as he keeps it elevated it doesn't hurt too bad.

Week 33
Emily has less than 7 weeks left! That is if our little guy comes on time. Emily is hoping he will come a little early. The heat is starting to get to her and she is starting to swell. The pregnancy has not been too bad for her and we hope everything continues that way.

Spackman Family Reunion
Spackman
Family
This past week the Spackman family got together for a fun reunion!!! It started with Kendall coming home from his mission and everyone picking him up from the airport. The family kept busy with a baby shower, water kickball, tennis, boys soccer game, shirt tie-dying, and a murder mystery dinner. All of the meals were cooked by family members from their missions. Kendall made Empenadas, Kyle Jumbalaya, Brian had stuffed peppers and a potato casserol, Travis made Cepelini and potato pancakes, Mark fixed doubles, Dad (Paul) did a Brazilian steak dinner, and Grandma and Grandpa made borscht.
House Progress through June 23
The house really looks great! It really is coming together with the paint, tile and now cabinets! Earlier in the week we took the Spackman family to see our house. The railing was stained to match the cabinets and some of the cabinets where in place. Later that week we went back and all the cabinets were up. We even had some cement laid out for the back patio and front stairs.

Father"s Day
Travis has gotten Father’s Day presents from Emily since
they have been married. This year has been special for him since he really is
going to be a father. Travis got all of his presents early because he could use
it or Emily couldn’t keep it a secret. His first gift was a soccer ball. He
picked it out himself and used it to help him get ready for his soccer season.
His second gift was the book “Ender’s Shadow.” He started reading his book last
week, but it ended up missing pages! Have you ever had that happen to you? Now
his book is being returned and he is waiting for a new one to come in the mail.
Travis also got a surprise gift on Father’s Day. Emily is
currently a sunbeam teacher in our ward. She decided to spend some time making
Father’s Day gift with her class. They made little white shirts out of paper
and stuffed a bag full of skittles to look like a tie. They turned out better
than she thought and Travis got the leftover treats!

Schools Out For Summer
Emily-
Emily had a busy last week of school. She was glad she did not have to teach every day. Some of the activities were assemblies, awards day, field day, principal party, movie party, and yearbooks. It was a fun week, but tiresome. Now that school is out Emily has a week off for the summer and then will start work at Discover. She will also have time off at the end of
the summer when our baby boy arrives.

Travis-
Travis had a pretty chill last week of school. On Monday they had a final test and that was basically it. Tuesday through Friday was just parties, graduation practice, etc. On Friday the faculty went golfing and Travis almost hit another golfer on a 200 yard drive. It was rather scary. This last week Travis has been in training meetings
to get ready to implement the new math common core. Some parts of the
workshops were good, but for the most part it was just long and boring.
Travis will also be starting work at Discover on Monday the 17th, which is tomorrow :(
Travis and Emily cannot wait to get time off for the
Spackman Family Reunion!!!
House Progress through June 13
There has been a bit of progress with our house. Our walls have a first coat of paint, as well as having the baseboards and trimming painted. They obviously need to still finish painting, as can be seen in the pictures. Also the interior and exterior doors have been painted and we now have a garage door. The interior doors were placed in the middle of the room, a board was nailed to the tops of them, and they were painted. I am sure that is how construction is always done, but we found it interesting how they got the doors to stand up so they could paint them. The exterior doors they just swung into the house and used the walls as a backdrop to paint. Fascia is partly installed (the outside trimming stuff). We debated whether to go dark on the fascia or make it a tan color. In the end, we went with dark. Looking at it now it would have been nice to have a lighter color to add more dimension, but oh well. We still like it.
