Riverbirch Cabin

Travis' grandparents own some land between Logan Canyon and Ogden Canyon. They built a cabin years ago and are still finding things they can do to improve or upgrade it. We got a chance to go up with the Spackman clan and Grandma and Papa Ashcroft. It was a little different going up with Wyatt, but everyone had a blast.

While at the cabin we relaxed. We played games, roasted s'mores, sang by the campfire, and had delicious food, such as dutch oven cobblers.

Saturday some of us went on a hike the waterfalls in Blacksmith Fork Canyon. It was different walking through water and up waterfalls. There were even some swampy areas. It is a fun experience to say the least.

Above are pictures of the waterfall we jumped off. Brian was even daring enough to try a back flip.

Above are pictures of the "hot tub". The only problem with the "hot tub" is the water is
basically freezing at 40 degrees.

The Sink

Travis was getting Wyatt's bath ready and put him here so he wouldn't escape. Wyatt was loving it!

First Steps

Wyatt is now 11 months old. We have noticed him unintentionally standing next to furniture without holding on to it. So the day he turn 11 months we decide to see if he could walk. He has officially taken his first steps.

Daddy and Baby Wyatt

The last couple weeks Travis and Wyatt have gone to church matching. A lot of people in the ward have commented on how cute they look.

1st Haircut

On Friday, July 11th Grandma Kerri gave Wyatt his first haircut. The haircut has made Wyatt look more like a little boy and less like a little baby. We can't believe how much he has changed. Above are before and after shots of his hair. The before picture was taken last Sunday and the after picture was taken this Sunday. We love you Wyatt!

4th of July

For the 4th of July, the Spackman Family got together for a reunion. On the 3rd, we played games at a park then headed over to Utah State to view fireworks. We sat at a church a couple of blocks away from the stadium. The view turned out to be a very good one. Fireworks are always fun to watch.

The next morning we headed to Lewiston for the parade and carnival. Wyatt had a great time hanging out with all the people and watching the parade. He quite likes it when there is a lot going on--it keeps him entertained. The favorite part of the parade was when the horses came. Every time the horses came he would point and talk to them then get fussy when they left.

In the evening, we went to the farm and learned a little about the history of the family. While there we found a few cows and a calf, which Wyatt fell in love with. It was fun to see/learn some things about the farm which we didn't know before. After the farm we went to fireworks at Grandma Spackman's. Wyatt was still awake for these ones and was very fascinated by them. He just sat and starred, which is not like him at all. It was as if he was in a trance. We think he liked them though.

Air Show

After celebrating our anniversary in Cache Valley, we head to the Hill Air force Base. Emily's father, Merlin, loves airplanes and quite enjoys air shows. Wyatt was pretty cute pointing at the planes and watching the crowd.

Anniversary

For our 5 year anniversary Travis planned a trip to Bear Lake.

On Friday, the weather was too cold to go on the lake so we stayed in Logan. While there we walked around USU campus visiting our old haunts and exploring the new builds. We also got some USU apparel for Wyatt. We sampled cheese and milk at Gossners which has always been a fun activity for us. For lunch we stopped at Fredrico's Pizza.
Later that afternoon we drove to Bear Lake and of course stopped for a raspberry shake. After that we checked into our room, then headed to Pickleville Playhouse to get dinner and see a show. Dinner was delicious and the show was fabulous. There was a lot of audience interaction and humor. The singing and dancing was also great.

The next day we just hung out in the morning, then went hiking to the wind caves. Turns out we are not in as great of shape as we used to be, but we still made it. Travis had a rather ferocious brown garden snake cross his path at one point on the hike, eliciting a girly scream from him. Luckily he is still alive after his encounter.
